Dr Katerina Stephanou, PhD
Katerina is a dedicated and compassionate registered psychologist with extensive clinical and research experience. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan in a range of mental health settings. Katerina holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Swinburne University and a PhD from the University of Melbourne.
Her therapeutic style is honest, direct, and empathetic, fostering strong and collaborative relationships with her clients. Katerina adopts a client-centred approach to assessment and therapy, aiming to understand each person’s experiences and challenges within the broader context of their unique life story. She is particularly passionate about creating neuroaffirming environments and is a committed ally to the LGBTIQA+ community.
Katerina is trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Currently, Katerina is specialising in psychological assessment at Mind and Brain Clinic, with particular expertise in the assessment of Neurodivergent conditions (including ADHD and Autism) and associated mental health comorbidities.
Outside of her professional life, Katerina is a parent of two, a wife, and enjoys travelling, spending time with friends and family, and practising Pilates.
