Dr Katerina Stephanou, PhD
Katerina is a dedicated and compassionate registered psychologist with extensive experience in both clinical practice and psychological research. She has supported individuals across the lifespan in a range of mental health settings and holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Swinburne University, as well as a PhD from the University of Melbourne.
Her therapeutic style is warm, honest, and direct, fostering strong and collaborative relationships with her clients. Katerina takes a client-centred approach to assessment and therapy, working to understand each person’s experiences within the broader context of their unique life story. She is particularly passionate about creating neuro affirming spaces that respect and support individual differences.
Katerina is trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
At Mind and Brain Clinic, Katerina specialises in psychological assessment, with a particular focus on neurodivergent presentations such as ADHD and Autism, as well as related mental health comorbidities.
Outside of her professional work, Katerina enjoys a full and active life. She is a proud parent of two and values time spent with her family and friends. Her personal interests include travel, Pilates, and exploring new experiences that bring balance and joy.
